Designing London’s Recovery

London colleagues: Do you want to plan how we might help get London back on its feet after Lockdown and the Pandemic?
The Mayor’s Designing London’s Recovery challenge programme is a £1.5 million design-led fund to prototype, test, and scale ideas ‘to solve the biggest challenges London and Londoners are facing’.
The core themes are: addressing structural barriers and inequalities; supporting the most vulnerable; involving London’s diverse communities; innovating and using digital technology; and reducing social, economic and health inequalities. There are three core briefs:
  • One: Helping Londoners into good work
  • Two: Building strong communities
  • Three: Green New Deal and High Streets for All
Building on my work on #SocialTechnologies and the care sector, and our Zinc UKRI Healthy Ageing Challenge pitch, I want to develop a proposal around older people in London and how they might be better enabled and connected.
The deadline for applications is 30 June.

Briefings

Designing London’s Recovery is also hosting two Launch Events on Brief One & Two: Friday May 28, 10:30-12:00pm and Brief Three: Friday June 11, 10:30-12:00pm. I will attend and report back to anyone interested, but do join if you can and have time.

Get involved

Would anyone like to get involved in discussing ideas for a proposal? If so, I am organising an informal call to discuss the programme with a number of colleagues who have expressed an interest, with a view to possible collaboration on a bid. Please use the tool below to select one of two times (11:00 or 12:00 UTC+1) on Monday 17 May at for a 45 minute call via Zoom. You can then add the call, including link, to your calendar:
